Law RDL 8/2020 established an extraordinary grant due to cease of activity to autonomos who are affected by the coronavirus crisis. This being the case either because of compulsory suspension of activity or because their incomes have decreased over 75% in relation to the average invoicing of past 6 months.
This benefit is granted with extraordinary character and its requisites are different to ordinary cease of activity in order to make it more flexible so that a greater number of autonomos have access to it.
Who can benefit?
Group 1: Autonomos who needed to close their business due the Law 463/2020.
Group 2: Autonomos whose activity has been affected by coronavirus crisis to the point of a 75%+ decrease in incomes.
(Associations of Atonomos are trying to get a reduction of that percentage to include a more people in the requisites)
This grant is incompatible with any other benefit currently being received from Social Security.
What requisites are needed?
Being registered at the Social Security on the date of declaration of State of Alert(14/03/2020)
For those in group 2: Documental proof of having experienced a reduction of incomes of a least 75% in relation to the average of past 6 months.
Being up to date with payments to Social Security. However, if at the time of cease of activity the autonomo fails to meet this requisite, he will receive a payslip with the debt that needs to be cancelled in the un-extendable period of 30 days. The payment of this will grant the right to receive the benefits.
How much will the grant be?
The grant will be 70% of the contribution base. For autonomos contributing for the minimum it is 70% of €944.40 = 661€
The payment to the social security of March will be automatically refunded.
(Since autonomos continue to be registered they can continue working while in this situation.)
For how long?
The assistance will be for 1 month or until the last day of the month in which the State of Alert concludes.
Autonomos who meet the requisites acquire the right to receive the grant with effects on 14th of March.
How can you apply for this grant?
The authorities need a few days to make available the online tools needed to collect the information.
ATA, Association of Autonomos, recommend to apply even if we do not have all documental proof. The application will be revised after approval.
