Discover what the “No VeriFactu” modality is, what choosing it implies, and why we do not recommend it.

With the arrival of the Anti-Fraud Law and the new invoice-issuing system, businesses must use software that meets the integrity, preservation, and traceability requirements set by the Tax Agency (AEAT). Within this framework, it is possible to choose between two modalities: VeriFactu and No VeriFactu.
At Quipu we will not offer the “No VeriFactu” modality. This means that if you choose that option, you will not be able to issue invoices with Quipu and will only be able to use our tool as management software.
In this article we explain exactly what this modality implies and why we believe it is not the most advisable option.
What is the “No VeriFactu” modality?
The “No VeriFactu” modality allows the taxpayer to issue invoices without sending them to the Tax Agency automatically in real time.
This implies that:
- Invoices are generated in software that complies with technical requirements but are not automatically communicated to the AEAT.
- The taxpayer is responsible for safeguarding, preserving, and guaranteeing the integrity of all records.
- In the event of an inspection or requirement, the user must export and deliver the records to the AEAT in the required format.
Unlike “VeriFactu”, the AEAT does not receive information immediately, so the control is carried out afterwards.
Why doesn’t Quipu offer the “No VeriFactu” option?
At Quipu we are committed to a modern, secure invoicing system that minimizes risks and administrative burdens in your day-to-day operations. The “No VeriFactu” modality involves more obligations, more manual work, and more risk, which is why we will not incorporate it into Quipu’s invoicing system.
Those who choose this modality can use Quipu as management software, but they will not be able to issue invoices from the tool.

Drawbacks of choosing the “No VeriFactu” modality
Below we summarise the main reasons why we consider this option not advisable:
1. Greater administrative burden and full responsibility for compliance
- All responsibility falls on the taxpayer.
- You must ensure that each record complies with the technical integrity and preservation requirements.
- You must ensure that the data remain unaltered and stored for four years.
- You must control the exact time of issuance, with a margin of error of no more than one minute.
- Any mistake or discrepancy may result in requests or penalties.
With “VeriFactu”, much of this responsibility is reduced because the AEAT receives the information directly.
2. Increased likelihood of inspections or requirements
- AEAT sources have confirmed that those who choose the “No VeriFactu” modality are more likely to receive additional controls.
- The Tax Agency does not receive data in real time and must verify it manually.
- If the AEAT detects incomplete information, it must formally request it from the taxpayer.
- The verification process in this modality is more complex and requires greater supervision.
In contrast, with “VeriFactu”, the AEAT has automated control and does not need to request that information additionally.
3. Fewer advantages and fewer services from the AEAT
The “VeriFactu” modality will allow:
- Access to automated assistance services.
- Pre-completed VAT returns.
- Immediate validation by the AEAT.
- Invoices verifiable by clients through a QR code.
None of this will be available to those who choose “No VeriFactu”.
4. Lower efficiency and higher risk of errors
The “VeriFactu” modality automates:
- The record
- The data submission
- Invoice validation
In “No VeriFactu”, the user must manually check that everything complies with the law, increasing the risk of human error.
In summary
Although both modalities are legal, “VeriFactu” is clearly the safest, most efficient option with the least risk, and it also offers more advantages and automation.
Therefore:
- Quipu will operate only with the VeriFactu modality.
- If you choose “No VeriFactu”, you will not be able to issue invoices with Quipu, only manage your business from the platform.
Our goal is to offer you a system that provides peace of mind, automatic compliance, and zero complications with the AEAT.
